How to Find Your Calling – PART 1 & PART 2

Forget Finding Your Purpose! You Need to Learn How to Find Your Calling.

Do you ever wonder whether or not you’re living your PURPOSE? Or whether you even have a purpose?

I have spoken to SO many women who either feel lost and confused about what their purpose is or simply depressed that they still haven’t found it.

The simple, elegant truth is that it’s not your purpose you should be focusing on, it’s your Calling.

You see I too used to focus on discovering my exact purpose in life. It felt finite – a place to find and then achieve. (Former Type A Personality for ya!)

When I finally had the Spiritual Truths downloaded to me, after attending a Spiritual Retreat, I understood that the only purpose any of us have is to expand Consciousness.

The Universe itself is continuously expanding. In fact, current research by cosmologists indicates that the universe may expand to eternity!

Now, since we come from this Source, this Consciousness, we too innately have within us the inclination to expand.

So, our Purpose is to expand Consciousness, but the way in which we help this Consciousness expand is through our Calling.

Each of us has our own unique Calling that is signature to us.

What IS a Calling?

The dictionary definition is: a strong urge towards a particular way of life or career; a vocation.

A more Spiritual definition is: The signature programming of your soul by which you help Consciousness expand itself.

An Elegant description would be: Something that you innately share with others that causes them to Experience, Be or Realise something.

2 Steps to Find Your Calling

Step 1:

Look back over your life and remember the happiest moments of you sharing something.

Notice how without you consciously “doing” anything, people experienced things like beauty, love, freedom, wholeness… just by interacting with you.

Can you remember feeling lit up, fulfilled, joyous and totally present? This will give you clues into your calling.

Has anyone ever complimented you on something that felt easy for you?

Has anyone ever said something to you that stuck in your head for years?

For me, I was raised in the Catholic faith. I didn’t connect with all the rules and protocol but I did connect with Jesus. He seemed to embody the characteristics of a kind, loving human and I looked to him as a role model as to how I wanted to be.

Then my mind was expanded by a powerful experience involving my puppy.

While my family was visiting some friends, my puppy ran off after being put outside by my father for peeing on the friend’s sofa. When we went to let him back in the house we couldn’t find him. We looked for DAYS, in a forest that surrounded this friend’s secluded home.

I was devastated.

Out of desperation, the mother of the family said, “Gosh, too bad we don’t know a physic.”

My mother instantly remembered one that she had heard about back where we lived. They called this physic and she described exactly where he was (on top of a hill in a field that used to be where a crop of hemp had grown, in a clearing like a small animal would rest in.)

Our friend knew exactly where this was so we drove the long distance to get there, decided to created a straight line and all walk forward.

I walked straight then all of a sudden heard a whimpering sound.

“Lucky?” “Lucky?” I cried out.

More whimpering came until I peeked around a tree and there, in a clearing, on a little patch of flattened out grass was my precious puppy.

I ran to him and called loudly to the others. We were beyond overjoyed!  I really could not believe that he was exactly where that lady said he was.

From that pivotal moment, I began investigating how people could know things when they were in a completely different place.

What did this lady tap into in order to know this? I wondered.

And so my Spiritual understandings evolved.

As I evolved I found that I adored helping people. Every time I helped a classmate with something they struggled with I felt so whole, so fulfilled, so overcome with JOY & happiness.

When I was a teenager, a meditation teacher who could read people’s energies and auras, pointed to me and said,

“You. You my dear are going to do some beautiful things in this world.”

“I am?” I thought. I knew I wanted to be a school teacher, but what was going to be so special about me?

I ended up becoming a a high profile teacher who could turn around troubled children, help extremely shy children become unbelievably confident and help the average child become their best, most confident self.

Now, during my life I experienced quite a bit of trauma; abuse of all kinds, divorce, grief…and through all of that, the feeling that grew was DEEP empathy for people.

My constant statement was:

“You can never judge someone as you don’t know what they’ve been through.”

Later, I found myself in France, yearning for happiness. That’s all I wanted, but after going through one of the most difficult years of my life, I didn’t know HOW to be happy.

This is when my yoga teacher “friend”, Guy, introduced me to Buddhism. It was here that I learned how to embody the attributes of abundance, compassion, peace, health etc. Embodying these attributes gifts you an inner fulfilment so great that you begin to glow from the inside out.

I was finally able to walk around BEING these attributes instead of just wishing for them.

It was at this time that an internationally renowned Buddhist Lama honoured me by giving me the Spiritual name “Karma Changchun Paldra”, meaning “Radiant Light of Enlightenment Mind”.

I later became a parenting coach, helping stressed, overwhelmed, & exasperated parents to be the parent (and person) they desired to be.

The one comment I received from all my coaching clients and friends was always, “You are SO easy to talk to!” or, “I haven’t shared this with anyone, you are the first.”

And so on and so on and so on…can you see a pattern?

  • I LOVED helping people.
  • People have always, always opened up to me on a deep level after being in my presence for only a couple of minutes.
  • I experienced great trauma which gifted me the ability to understand people in a completely compassionate way.
  • I was gifted teachings that allowed me to understand  how to be happy and feel fulfilled.
  • The Universe provided opportunities for me to learn & understand Divine Truths
  • I was given the natural ability to teach & inspire

Now, let’s move on to exactly how to state what your calling is.

Step 2:

Write in a brief statement what people naturally experience as a result of being in your presence or when they interact with you.

Complete this statement:

People Experiencing _________.

Other forms of this are:

People Realising _____________.

People Being _____________.

Word that might fill in the blank are:

  • freedom
  • love
  • beauty
  • abundance
  • unity within family
  • everything is possible
  • oneness with God/Source/the Divine

For me, I would write:

People experiencing unity & oneness with their Divinity.

In a retreat I’ll be hosting in May I’ll be going more deeply into how to find your Calling and how to weave it into your entire life and career, but for now, go through these two simple steps.

It will give you the ability to consciously come to every relationship or person you encounter and KNOW & FEEL that you are fulfilling your purpose AND your calling.

Why Being Happy is a REQUIREMENT For Spiritual Women Now

“Hello! Hi! How are you?” Great thanks, you?” 

“Oh, my God! She’s a little odd, isn’t she?”

“Yes! And what was she wearing?”

This is a conversation that goes on all over the world between women.  Good women, nice women, women who want to be happy, who want their children to be happy & who have a strong desire for peace… and yet…

Where is OUR happiness? Our peace? Our kindness? Our love?

Yes, we can do big, public things like volunteer, raise money for charities, be a Foster parent, etc. but in our every day words and actions, are we really resonating what we wish for in the world?

Last week we all heard about the horrendous tragedy in Manchester. I felt broken inside. But what added to my sadness was that when I scrolled through my Facebook feed most of what I read was people:

  • complaining
  • using extremely negative words (that I choose not to reprint here) against other women
  • judging

And I thought…

And people wonder why we are experiencing this reality right now?

As we all know, everything is energy. Words have an energetic frequency, actions, feelings, posts we share, comments we make, food, plants, desks, chairs…everything has a measurable energy.

So, if we are using negative words, in whatever circumstance, we are resonating that energy. And the more we resonate this negativity, the more negative energy is collected in our collective consciousness (the world’s consciousness). And, what we have resonated is what we will receive back.  It’s the Law.

It’s Time to BE Happy

I was really called to write this post… for it to be a reminder, to all of us women who are truly beautiful souls, that if we want to live in a peaceful, loving world, we must make our main choice every day to BE peace & love. That goes for everything we say and do.

Can we be perfect? Should we get down on ourselves if we mess up? No.

But we CAN inwardly or outwardly say, “I’m sorry” and then make a different choice in the next moment.

And, what we can also do is to make our other main focus, JOY & PLEASURE.

Did you know that the emotion of JOY is only 160 Hz from that of Enlightenment? (Enlightenment resonates at 700 Hz and JOY at 540 Hz)

This is the reason why we focus so much on PLEASURE here at The Elegant Life, because when you are doing something that gives you pleasure, you radiate JOY and when you radiate JOY you change the world’s consciousness.

And when the world’s consciousness is uplevelled by all the beautiful souls around the world committing to JOY, the world’s reality will change. It’s already changing!

How BEING Happy is Changing the World

More people are open to Spirituality than ever before. More people are meditating than ever before. So a shift IS happening, but we need to continue moving towards JOY, ladies.

If you hear yourself complaining, shift to …”But I am so grateful for _________”

If you feel yourself being pulled into gossip, remove yourself from the situation or change the topic.

If you hear yourself judging someone else, say inwardly or outwardly, “I’m sorry, that’s a judgement.” And send that person love instead.

Addicted: How to Elegantly Stop Negative Behaviours & Patterns

I’m finally ready to admit something: Hi, my name is Erin Kurt and I’m addicted to helping people.

Some of you may think I’m joking.

Some of you may think I’ve lost it! LOL!

And some of you may be quite confused right now….

Let me explain. (I know many of you ladies will completely “get” what I’m about to admit and share. Hey, maybe you’ll be joining me at Helping People Anonymous! LOL!)

During the past month, I have been busier than busy. And it’s of my own doing, to my own detriment.

I knew we were moving house in April.

I knew my husband was going to be away for a whole week after our move.

Yet I took on more work than ever….and I’ve hit a wall.

Not only did I run my very first LIVE training on The Elegant Clearing Process here in Dubai, but I had already agreed to host the ONLINE version of it as well, which required hours and hours of filming, editing & uploading of trainings.

At the same time, The Divine inspired me to teach women how to Elegantly Manifest & Maintain Their Best Body and create a 6 week program for it to continue supporting them while they put the principles into practise!

Now this is all great as the Divine downloaded this to me loud and clear…but! But…. I was the one who put pressure on myself to release it right away. What was I thinking??? (I have now switched to pre-selling it as my assistant, graphic designer and I all work to get it organised and looking gorgeous. Throw into the bag being asked to be interviewed and having to create material for that, and I was in over my head.

You see, in the midst of my utter passion for my message and the mentoring I do with women I kind of forgot that there are other “life” aspects to be taken care of too.

Homework help, dinners to make, costumes and supplies to gather, birthday gifts to buy, parties to go to, leaks to fix, a house to set up….you get the picture. It’s been an intense month.

Can you relate at all?

How I First Became Addicted to Helping 

I can still see a movie in my mind that impacted my life forever. I am sitting in a Math Class feeling anxious and upset.

The teacher is teaching a lesson on fractions and a boy named Troy Yearly is continuously being asked questions by the teacher and getting them wrong.  At one point he drops his head to his desk in embarrassment and my heart breaks for him.

The whole time this went on I was thinking, “There is SUCH an easier way to teach this!  Why is she showing him how to do it like that?”

As soon as the teacher set out our textbook assignment I went up to Troy’s desk and said, “Troy, there’s a really easy way to do this, do you want me to show you?”

He mumbled, “Okay.”

I showed him a really simple method and gave him a question to try.  He did it in 2 seconds and I said, “Yes! That’s it!”

What happened next is something I’ll never forget.

He lifted his head up, turned to look at me and a big grin slowly appeared on his face.

That was all I needed.

My heart was FULL! I had instant energy inside, as if  I had just drank 20 cans of Red Bull.

I was overjoyed beyond anything I’d ever felt before from helping him….and this is when I became addicted to helping people.

How My Helping Addiction Didn’t Serve ME

I went on to become a teacher because I LOVED helping kids feel great about themselves and live up to their potential and beyond.

I then became a Stress-Free Parenting Coach to mothers & fathers all over the world because I wanted eliminate the unnecessary stress that parents were facing on a day to day basis.

And then I went on to coach women on how to create Signature Businesses for themselves because I so wanted them to feel the same empowerment and exhilaration I felt by being able to express myself and serve people using my natural gifts and abilities.

And now,  well, I am serving at the highest level ever.  What I do now makes me feel exactly as I did with Troy Yearly that day…. I assist women all over the world to live & manifest exquisite lives for themselves by helping them return HOME to their Divinity. NOTHING is better than this.

So, when I receive downloads on how to serve, I’m up for it!

When someone reaches out to me, I’m THERE.

When someone is feeling lost, disconnected, or at a major turning point in their life and needs guidance, I AM THERE.

And when they email me to share of their success, breakthroughs and miracles, I can’t go to sleep for hours because I am on such a high!

So, where’s the negative in all of this,  you ask?

Things I’ve Done to DisHonour Myself

  1. Overcommitting to others and neglecting my own family
  2. Promising a deadline and working night & day to honour that deadline (with little sleep and no time for doing those things I always dreamed of doing in my life.)
  3. Allowing people to not pay me in full or bargain my price (I learned the hard way here. Now, I set my price which honours who I am and the magic I bring into people’s lives and no longer negotiate or offer payment plans. If someone desires change and is committed to that change they will find a way to raise the money to work with me or invest in one of my life-changing online programs. )
  4. Working During My Holidays and Not Fully Turning Off. I used to do this all the time.  I finally learned to state that during a certain month I’ll only be doing Social Media postings. Although I had a wee slip just the other month when my hubby and I were talking about our trip to Canada this summer and I blurted out, “Hey! Maybe I can lead a short weekend workshop while we’re there!” Ahem…that didn’t go down well…

Can you relate to any of this? Do you give, give give and then hit a wall?

We come from such a great place, don’t we?

And I really do take care of myself! I regularly meditate, move, eat well, have dates with my hubby and friends and spend quality moments with my kiddies, but there is something deeper that is going on and I feel it.

You probably feel it too.

You KNOW your soul desires more quiet time.

You KNOW you miss your girlfriends.

You KNOW you miss reading more novels.

You KNOW you miss having your own “thing” outside of being a mother, a partner, a business owner or employee.

For me, it’s the fact that I am literally living the life I could only dream of years ago. 

But I am so busy right now serving and helping people that I have no time to fully ENJOY this life that I manifested.

And that’s not okay with my soul. That feels like a REAL dishonouring of the Divine.

How to Stop These Addicted Patterns

Step 1

Notice there’s a problem.

Step 2

Journal about WHY it’s a problem. Why is it feeling like a problem? How is it affecting your life right now?

Step 3

Write down how your ideal life would look and feel down to the smallest detail. (I do this with my 1:1 clients and it is a beautiful and very telling experience)

Step 4

Do the Elegant Clearing Process or Work 1:1 with someone who can support you with tools, strategies and mentorship on how to go from where you are to where you desire to be.

Step 5

Meditate and Visualise Your New Life Vision at least once a week. My 6 Phase Visioning Meditation is perfect for this.

After going through these steps myself:

  • I definitely noticed that overcommitting and giving myself short time lines were a problem. I was addicted to helping so much that I forgot about honouring myself.
  • I recognised all the ways in which being addicted to helping was negatively affecting my life.
  • I revisited my life vision that I wrote on December 31, 2016 (New Years Eve) and became realigned to my soul’s desires in all areas of my life.
  • I did the Elegant Clearing Process and made some beautiful decisions on how I will move forwards. (If you are interested in what my soul wants to do that I haven’t been doing, watch the video at minute 9:00 where I share all!)

What I want to hi-light here is that I always view every experience as a gift. And I really did receive a gift from this busy, uncomfortable month. I reconnected to my soul’s deepest desires.

4 Steps to Elegantly Have the Body You Want (FINAL Video #5)

I’ll never forget the moment when my new personal trainer used his caliper to grab the fat around my waist and his tape measure to jot down my inches. Oh – My – God, how totally humiliating.

Then came “The Talk”. Here’s how it went:

Trainer [trying to sound non-chalant]: “Okay, so based on all the results you are considered to be in the Obese Zone.”

Me [trying to look like I’m really interested but really wanting to cry], “Oh wow, okay.”

I used to be the skinny kid. The young adolescent who some described as looking too thin – sickly thin even. They used to tell me I should eat more….until they saw me eat whole bags of cookies after school.

To have gotten to a place in my life where I was tired, worn out, and OBESE was something I couldn’t even wrap my head around.

In order to get me down to my ideal weight, the trainer had me doing short, intense periods of cardio, along with weights, squats and stomach exercises.

I was a sweaty mess after our exercise sessions.

After returning home in order to take care of my daughter and run my business, I would lay down on the sofa and not get up until it was time to collect my son from school. My body was completely spent.

I thought to myself, “Who ARE those people who say exercise gives them energy??? All it does for me is make me want to sleep for 10 years!”

I worked with this trainer for 6 weeks as a lead up to my summer holiday with “the GOAL” being to drop a dress size & look good in a bikini. You know how that goes, right?

And so the saga continued. I would try to do things on my own, do another diet…. and nothing was sustainable, not even exercise. After about 2 weeks I would catch a cold, get the flu or just feel unwell.

How to Attain Your Ideal Weight… Without Exercise

I won’t go into the long story of how I came to practise what I do today, but just know that I got to a point where I was just DONE. Done with the countless diets. Done with the countless exercise promises. Done with feeling crappy and no energy. Just done. And so, I asked the Divine for Guidance and voila! Here it is:

  1. Banish the word EXERCISE from your vocabulary.  There are so many counter-productive beliefs and messages around the word that it is, in my opinion, better to never use it again. Instead, I choose to use the word MOVEMENT.
  2. We are energetic beings and in our energetic system we store beliefs, memories and memes thus causing a congestion in our energetic system. When there is congestion, there is no flow of energy. And without flow of energy our bodies don’t work well.  They put on weight in certain areas related to the belief or memory or they create pain or tension. So, we must move.
  3. Every morning before stepping out of bed, ask your body & soul this question: “How would you like to MOVE today?”
  4. Before beginning your movement make an intention for what you desire the movement to DO for you.  Your intention could sound like this: “My intention is that this movement unblocks any and all energy congestion within me so that energy  flows freely throughout my body and elegantly brings me to my ideal weight.”
  5. Enjoy the movement and Thank your body for supporting you.
